Mega tv 'Mega Mou' - Velvet Media Design GMBH

VELVET BRAKES DOWN THE CONCEPT:

"In an extensive package, consisting of over 500 elements, velvet.design team finished a redesign for Mega, the biggest private Greek tv channel. After a great amount of almost blood, but definitely sweat and tears, the result became self-evident mixed media package with the rich motion graphic work and lomographic movie look zentner interpreted to be the most suitable for this re-design. The whole concept is based on human connectivity between the channel and the audience. The "messenger" is the key visual of the information and the carrier platform for the emotions. They represent the channel and, like this, allow the channel to directly interact with the audience, even directly with the hand which stands for the personified mega itself, interacting with the actors and provoking and guiding the situations.The full emotional impact of the television can be summed up to 4 main emotions: cry, smile think and love, bringing one and unique ending: Mega mou - my very personal Mega"


"The lomographic, nostalgic colors should re-invent this vicinity towards the spectator, promoting the "for you only!" feeling, it was achieved by digital 5D Canon shooting in combination with the use of analog filters to obtain this unique lomographic style, whilst the "messengers" burst with animated life and take us to the journey on a different level"


"The idents reflect the pointed emotion originated from a specific situation, spreading in the environment like a chain reaction, still constantly changing. Action and reaction happen in an animated form on a "messenger" playground, where they grow, interact, pop-up out of the frame and transform producing the narrative variety for the different genre. The intensity of this special relationship between Mega and their audience, "messenger" uses just handwritten personal messages. Like a personal signature, enriched by the technique and individual writing, Mega logo too becomes personalized as a part of the message exploding with mini-animations"


"Music uses kind of cartoon-cabaret sound effects to enhance the emotional effect of whats happening on the screen. Subtile and detailed it ends in a simple spoken claim of "Mega mou", in a repetitive and magical way of a catchy tune"

"Mega mou" design concept also won the Gold award in the category Best on-air Branding Design at PromaxBDA Europe and the World Silver at The New York Festivals, Tv & Film Awards.
