Fun times! I had the joy to shoot the reunion event of the legendary Athens nightclub City Groove. The last time i was inside that place was 10 years ago as a dj. How things change.. And now instead of my record case i went in with my camera bag. Old friends, old faces, old memories. It was a truly beautiful, emotional & intense night.
On the technical side i shot it with my Canon 7D at 24fps with all settings to manual. I set the iso at 1000 which gave me the club atmosphere with a small amount of noise. Picture Style was set to Neutral with Sharpness to zero & Contrast all the way down to -4. Also changed the Color Space from sRGB to Adobe RGB for better tones. White Balance at 5200, Shutter speed at 50 double the frame rate & aperture from f/1.4 to f/2.8 using only two lenses, the Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 & 50mm f/1.4. The Zacuto Z-Finder was a great help since i was shooting at a nightclub & for the dolly shots i used the new Glidetrack Hybrid.
Edited the footage on Final Cut Pro 7 after converting all clips to ProRes 422 in MPEG Streamclip. Exported with the same settings (ProRes 422) and transcode to h.264 using MPEG Streamclip.
