BlackBerry Commercial shot on Canon 5D

The new Blackberry Torch commercial directed by Henrik Hansen, with Creative Consultant Laban Pheidias, produced by Stephan Mohammed (USA), with UK Line-Producer, Ben Porter. It features DJ Diplo of MIA & Major Lazer Fame and was shot on Canon 5D on location in Los Angeles, London & Creamfields Festival in Liverpool.

Danish Director Henrik Hansen has been directing commercials and music videos for the past 11 years. Originally from the coastal environs of Denmark, Hansen draws inspiration from the imagery and sounds of his upbringing. He is known for his soulful aesthetic, using storytelling, camera perspective, casting, visual effects, and location choices to both captivate and engage the viewer.

Preferring authenticity to sensationalism, Hansen pays close attention to detail. His commercials appeal to viewer’s visceral emotions through their alluring imagery, striking sound design, and deliberate attention to art direction. By making the ordinary extra- ordinary, Hansen delivers a fresh perspective on life, story and product.

A graduate of The Copenhagen Institute of Photography, Hansen has leveraged his skills in still photography and cinematography. After graduating from the program he assisted directors and cinematographers on commercials and feature films.

During this apprenticeship, he learned to shape story, develop his own definitive style, and soon became one of the most successful directors in Scandinavia and Europe going on to create both print and television campaigns for leading brands worldwide including American Express/Delta, Acura, Amtrak, BMW, Network Rail, Skoda, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Honda, Lexus, Jeep, Nissan, Toyota, Chevrolet, Sundance Channel and Nokia.

Hansen’s Honda spot “Safer Roads” won critical acclaim from both Adweek and Boards, who named it among the Best Spots of 2005.

An active humanitarian, he developed numerous social awareness spots for Amnesty International as well as a compelling series for Ad Council promoting domestic hurricane relief as well a compelling spot illuminating the dangers of predators online.

Hansen is represented by RSA Films in Los Angeles, New York, London and Shanghai. He has several screenplays in development in many unique genres popular throughout the industry.
