BEST DSLR EXPERT - TIPA AWARD 2010
Canon has won five major awards from the prestigious Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) – the leading photo and imaging press association that includes expert independent judges from Europe, South Africa, Canada and the USA – for the second year in a row.
The TIPA voting panel, including technical experts from 29 different magazines, meets annually to select the best photo and imaging products of the year. This year it has selected the Canon EOS 7D as 'Best DSLR Expert'.
Nigel Taylor, Marketing Communications Director, Canon Consumer Imaging Group, Canon Europe, commented:
"The TIPA Awards independently honour the most innovative products on the market – those offering the latest technologies, high quality design and true ease-of-use. Receiving awards for both photo and printing products clearly demonstrates the quality that runs through our range and reflects Canon’s commitment to imaging excellence."
The Canon EOS 7D is at the time the world’s most advanced HDSLR camera for video recording. Its ability to shoot full HD 1920x1080 video, along with user controls for frame rates and manual exposure, provides the video professional or creative shooter with some compelling possibilities. Add the ability to shoot at 720p HD, at a full 50 or 60 fps, and yet another avenue is opened.
The possibilities in the EOS lens system, both in the EF-S lenses as well as the EF series, are endless. Some lenses, like the 50mm f/1.4 or 50mm f/1.2L, have virtually no comparable examples on the video camera side of the aisle, and mean that EOS Movie is a valid and viable alternative in certain conditions.
And for the serious still photographer, there’s no denying the influence and power of multi-media in our lives. Fueled by the internet, many viewers of imagery, even casual viewers, expect to be enlivened with sound and motion, and video is the tool to deliver this. With the EOS 7D, you have two tools in one — a splendid high -performance digital SLR one moment, and a superior-performance video camera the next.
